Sarri leaves Chelsea, signs three-year deal with Juventus

By: in Sport

Maurizio Sarri has left Premier League side, Chelsea and has signed a three-year contract with Serie A club, Juventus.

The Italian gaffer, who joined the Blues from Napoli in July last year, led them to third in the Premier League and won the Europa League in his one season in charge.

60-year-old Sarri had not won a trophy in his career before the Europa League win with Chelsea.

He will replace fellow Italian Massimiliano Allegri, who left Juventus at the end of last season.

Derby County boss and former Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard has been linked with taking over at Stamford Bridge.

But the Blues are yet to make contact with Derby, according to reports from England.

The Championship club are keen to extend Lampard’s deal – which has two years left – and have opened talks with the 40-year-old.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are unable to sign any players during this break as a two-window transfer ban had been handed them by world governing body, Fifa.
