The Premier League season has just ended and a lot of players will change tune this summer, especially those at the end of their contract. On the side of Chelsea, it is the case of the Spaniard, Pedro.
Arrived in London in 2015 from FC Barcelona, the now 32-year-old player has not extended his contract with the club. And while the FA Cup final against Arsenal and the Champions League remain to be played with a round of 16 second leg against Bayern Munich (3-0 defeat in the first leg), the Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has confirmed the departure of his player, Pedro Rodriguez.
“I want to talk about Pedro because he played his last game for the club (in the league). The impact he has had here has been enormous. I would like to thank him very much and wish him good luck. He is here for our last matches (in the Champions League), but a great club player is leaving us,” explained the Blues coach after his team’s success against Wolverhampton (2-0, 38th day).
Before the last deadlines, Pedro has played 205 matches in all competitions with Chelsea, with 43 goals.
