Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett, said that the Welsh forward is worth at least as much as the 222 million euros paid for Neymar, ahead of the blockbuster Champions League clash between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Since Bale’s return from injury, he has been a key figure for Zinedine Zidane although he was rested for Saturday’s victory over Real Sociedad.

“He’s worth at least the 222 million paid for Neymar,” he explained in an interview with Tuttosport.

“Gareth is very happy with Real Madrid.

“He loves Madrid.”

Cristiano Ronaldo has been reported as being unhappy in the Spanish capital, yet Barnett doesn’t feel that Bale needs the Portuguese forward to leave in order to be the true star at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

“Gareth doesn’t need Cristiano Ronaldo to leave,” he intimated.

“Bale is already a star at Real Madrid.”

Real won the race to secure his signature in 2013 with Manchester United believed to have been interested at the same time; however Barnett recalls the incredible moment when the contract was signed.

“I remember the pen Florentino Perez gave me, he’s a great gentleman, I always carry it with me,” he admitted.

“Bale was close to signing for an Italian club, but Spurs didn’t accept the offer.

“He’s happy in Madrid now, although things can change quickly in football, however I know that no Italian club can afford to buy him at this point.”
